Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein is a master of minimal but sexy designs. It was established in 1968 as a coat shop and eventually ventured into more clothing variations. Since then, the company has made established itself in the fashion industry and has created the popular emblem “CK”. Today, the brand is almost synonymous to sex appeal due to its campaigns often involving adolescents in provocative poses.

The founder received the Coty award for three consecutive years starting in 1973 for his line of women’s wear. 1977 marked a big jump in the revenue of the company. The growing popularity of the brand earned it licenses for scarves, sunglasses, furs, belts and even sheets.

Famous endorsers of Calvin Klein include Brooke Shields and Mark Wahlberg. After some time, cosmetics production was also penetrated by the brand but suffered a major loss causing for the company to withdraw from that market. 

It was the high profitability which Calvin Klein gained from its underwear and perfume lines throughout the late 90’s that saved the company from bankruptcy. Its unisex fragrance, CK One, became a hit worldwide. The toned down packing have been well appreciated much more its unisex scent. Its fragrance, which is adored by both men and women, comes from the top notes of bergamot, cardamom and freesia, the aromatic blend of violet, rose, and green tea accord combined with the base notes of musks, amber and oakmoss.

For perfumes exclusively for women, CK offers Euphoria, Euphoria Blossom, Eternity, Obsession and Secret Obsession. For the gentlemen, the brand offers Euphoria, Euphoria Men, Euphoria Men Intense, Euphoria for Men, Obsession for Men and CK Free for Men.

 

 

 

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera has been a thriving fashion empire since 1980.  It’s a label that dresses Hollywood’s A-list stars and knows figures such as Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis.  Flagship Carolina Herrera boutiques are situated in key cities such as New York, Las Vegas and Dallas. In 2008, CH Carolina Herrera, a lifestyle brand, was launched in a n effort to further expand the business. New stores are set to open in New York this year.

Designs by Carolina Herrera are characterized by elegance and a great degree of chicness which makes the brand a favored label for wedding gowns and red carpet dresses. The same qualities are exemplified in the brand’s fragrances.

One of Carolina Herrera’s perfumes, 212 for Women, features orange blossom, mandarin and bergamot, camellia, gardenia and sandalwood. The fragrance provides an alluring citrus scent with a hint of floral note – absolutely feminine. While the perfume renders both sweetness and elegance, the appearance of the container proves to be as mystifying as its content.

212 was released together with a counterpart fragrance for men.  It is a more of a daytime fragrance for men. The scent is incomparable – a combination of musky, fruity and spicy aroma. It is both relaxing and sexy. Both 212s come with “Summer” editions which deliver almost the same touch as the original.

This year, a limited edition fragrance was released; CH Red and Gold hit the market. It is an enriched edition of the CH fragrance released in 2007 embellished with golden cap and pendant.

 

Chopard

The legacy of Chopard started in 1860 when Louis-Ulysse Chopard established a watch workshop. His fine craftsmanship gained him recognition and solid reputation in watchmaking. It was in 1975 that Chopard ventured into making ladies and jewelry watches. It was also in the late 70s that they introduced the Happy Diamonds Watch which slides freely around every movement. The Happy Sport collection was launched in the early 90s. The company also got in partnership with the Mile Miglia Vintage and Classic Car Rally giving birth to its racing collection. Chopard also launched a collection of watches inspired by legendary singer Elton John.

Chopard further diversified its business by penetrating the fragrances market. The brand’s elite craftsmanship in jewelries and watches transpires to the line of perfumes they offer.

Casran Cologne for Men by Chopard, launched in 2000, is a great daytime fragrance due to its light yet magnetic scent derived from a unique blend of cardamom, dry ambered cherries, prune, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. Another fragrance for men released by the company is Chopard Pour Homme. The fragrance depicts elegance and intense emotion.

Their women’s line of perfume includes Casmir, a woody-oriental fragrance with fruity notes. Its sandalwood, peach and floral compositions give it a very comforting scent that is distinctly feminine.  A more aggressive scent was concocted by Chopard for women with preference to sultry and sexy scents. Madness, the most passionate fragrance ever released by Chopard, is bursting with sensual aroma that seems to invite a certain level of intimacy. The unique scent comes from a blend of pink peppercorn, hibiscus flower and flamboyant flower tree.

 

Christian Audigier

Christian Audigier, a designer for Naf Naf, Lee, Von Dutch and Liberto, became notable for his work on fashion jeans. In fact, he is regarded as the man behind the success of Von Dutch as a style trend. He is a master of luxury street wear apparel.

He repeated the same success in the tattoo industry when he succeeded in making Ed Hardy a household name. Audiger was licensed to produce a clothing line in 2004 based on Ed Hardy’s tattoo imagery. Edgy is what best describes this designer whose fearfulness and fierceness in designs gained him great reputation. From jeans, he got into designing bags, shoes, furniture and, as odd as it may seem, even motorcycles.

He also has a great line of fragrances that are just as hardcore as his other products line. Caroline Sabas was the developer of his Christian Audigier for Men fragrance. Caroline blended notes of Asian pear, cinnamon, saffron, oakmoss, leather, vertiver, saffron and orriswood.

Christian Audigier for Women on the other hand is a combination blackberry, orchid, sandalwood, amber, pomegranate, tangerine, coconut, magnolia, and woods.  It was developed by perfumer Marypierre Julien.

 

The fragrances Christian Audigier created for the Ed Hardy brand were vibrant, fun and sexy, all inspired by tattoo designs of Ed Hardy such as “Life Love Luck” and “Love Kills Slowly” which are all part of the “Vintage Tattoo Wear” line. He still managed to mix hint of sweetness and edginess in a perfect blend with the fragrances for the feminine audience while men’s fragrances have woody notes with light citrusy touch.

 

Christian Dior

Christian Dior is a name that’s globally known in the fashion industry. It is a company founded by French designer under the same name. Since its establishment in 1946, the fashion line of Dior has grown into one of the largest luxury goods firms of today. The whole House of Dior offers the market with haute couture, luxury ready-to-wear fashion, menswear, accessories and fragrances.

Dior’s first fashion collection was launched in 1947, a Spring-Summer collection for that year. The two lines introduced in the collection were originally named as Corolla and Eight. However, the collection became more known as the New Look after Harper’s Bazzar’s editor-in-chief described it as such a new look.  

Not long after, the company also released a line of perfumes. It can be said that Dior revolutionized the perfume industry with the launch of its highly popular Miss Dior Parfum which is in reference to Christian Dior’s sister. The perfume is characterized by a refreshing, woody mossy touch with the blend of rose, gardenia, sage, and green florals which make it a truly feminine scent.

Another popular line of perfume by the House of Dior is Diorissimo, launched in 1956, which is a flowery fragrance created with the notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and ylang-ylang. With these refreshing touches, the perfume is ideal for daytime wear.

For the gentlemen market, two of the perfume products Christian Dior have are Fahrenheit 32 and Dune.  Fahrenheit 32 is a manly cologne which is a blend of orange blossom, vetiver and vanilla notes. Dune, which was launched in 1997, is also a cologne with a blend of oriental and woody scents.

 

Christina Aguilera

 

Christina Aguilera, an American pop singer and songwriter, is a name recognized worldwide. With many hit songs credited to her, she was able to establish herself as an icon in the music industry. But apart from a career utilizing her great voice, Christina Aguilera has also ventured in product labeling as she introduced her own line of fragrances for women to wear.

 

Christina Aguilera and Christina Aguilera by Night are the perfume products labeled under the singer’s name. Both of these perfumes share attributes which Christina Aguilera has been known of.

 

The first one, Christina Aguilera, is a sassy, sexy and extremely feminine fragrance which is perfect for women oozing with self-confidence. The scent comes from the blend of jasmine, white blueberry, mandarin, peach, lily of the valley, peony, ripe plum accords, musk, amber, vanilla and sandal wood. Further emphasizing the sexiness of the fragrance, its container poses a seductive design shaped as a woman’s body and covered with black lace. The product’s tagline even says “Sometimes, It’s all you need to wear.”

 

Christina Aguilera by Night is a new fragrance which was only launched last October 2009. This perfume is like a leveled-up version of the first fragrance Christina Aguilera as its scent and packaging is more seductive. It has the same blend of seductive oriental-floral aromas with the addition of almond and red apple. The same woman’s shape is used for the container. However, instead of just plain black, red has been incorporated as it is the singer’s favorite color. 

 

These perfume products are available in 15-ml, 30-ml, and 50-ml containers. 

 

Clinique

Clinique is probably the most favored and trusted brand in personal care. The brand has earned good reputation since it started in 1968.  The formation of the brand became an idea after the daughter of Estee Lauder, Evelyn Lauder, read an article in American Vogue magazine entitled “Can great skin be created?” It then premiered in 1968 as the world’s first hypo-allergenic brand.

Most of its products are fragrance-free making it suitable to many types of skin. Products of theirs are tested to hundreds of people several times before being released.

The brand is well-know for cosmetic product lineup from which most of the brand’s revenue is derived.  Their lines include foundations, concealers, eyeshadows, eyeliners, lip-sticks, lip-liners, bronzers, blushers, and powders, as well as nail polish. They released an innovative line of makeup brushes coated with antibacterial solutions. They also offer makeup tailored for different skin types. Corrective products and age-defying serums were released in 1999 as part of their “Stop Signs” line.

When it comes to fragrances, Clinique Happy is probably the most popular among its perfume lines. It offers a wide array of fragrances that all give a refreshing flowery scent with great tones that truly exude sophistication. There is an enduring transition in the scent from citrusy then fades to a mild floral combination. The clean smell is great for daily use at anytime. In addition, the perfume has a staying power making it a really valuable scent.  

The fragrance eventually was released in several editions such as Happy In Bloom, Happy Holiday, Happy Heart and Happy To Be.
